About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain is located 75 miles northwest of Philadelphia and is a little over an hour drive. This ski and snowboard area makes the most of the 164 acres, with a 1,082 foot vertical drop! This year they have added 2 new trails to make their total trails a whopping 39, THE MOST IN THE STATE! Along with the 39 trails there are 13 lifts offered, 100% of which is lighted for night skiing. You can make frequent top-to-bottom laps thanks to the hi-speed 6-pack chairlift and hi-speed detachable quad. Once again Blue Mountain has increased its automated snowmaking system with the purchase of 5 fan guns, 32 double B6 guns and increased water pumping capacity. Blue is always striving to have the best snowmaking capability in the region.

Terrain
Blue Mountain is known for having some of the most varied terrain around from beginner to double diamond making this a great mountain to visit for skiers and riders of all ability levels.

The novice to intermediate can enjoy their 16 beginner, 7 intermediate, and 16 advanced trails. If you are an expert, you will find that the trails marked with a black or double-black diamond turn out to be steeper than when viewed as you approach the mountain. Try the 5000' long double black diamond trail, Challenge. Or make a run down Razor's Edge, a 3,000' double black diamond trail with its own automated snowmaking system which has become the most popular run for advanced skiers and riders.

Five terrain parks and the region's only Big Air Bag provide plenty of challenge for freestyle riders. Central Park is an urban styles terrain park with stair sets, rails and many jibs. Sidewinder Park showcases expert level features including 70ft jumps and custom built rails and jibs! The Terrain Run is designed with the beginning freestyle rider in mind with a number of rails, boxes and table-tops perfect for to learn on.

The Valley Lodge at the base of the mountain offers all services including, tickets, rentals, a retail shop, a cafeteria, outside eateries, and seating areas. You'll also find their 21 slide Tubing Park that is over 1,000 feet long and the Valley School East and Valley School West for ski and snowboard lessons. Brand new for this year, Blue Mountain is a US Luge Training and Recruitment Site. Located next to their Tubing Park we will have the only East Coast Natural US Luge track that is open to the public. The Summit Lodge, which features wonderful views of the Poconos and a newly renovated Vista Ballroom, is also a full service lodge which includes a brand new pizzeria and coffee bar.
